Sad Story
Tuesday night was a bad night for a fellow cyclist in a nearby city. The guy was hit by a College Basketball team bus and killed. Here is a link to the news article:

Good quick ride today. But I did have one idiot get way too close. How this person did not hit me I don't know. But as soon as one person does that I move over and take the FULL lane. It is really annoying to people when I do that but then again all it takes is one idiot to kill. By taking the lane they can't do that anymore. Yell all you want but this state gives me every right to take the full lane while riding. I don't share well when you don't.

Rather strange ride tonight. Seems all the looneys are out. I hate Bike Lanes people just ignore you when you are in them. On a local road here there is this huge sign that says right turn YIELD to bicycles. You would think people would see that and obey it. But when you have a poor design in fact stupid design that puts the through bike lane on the right of a car that is turning right you are asking for trouble. But this idiot was just pushing it to the max. I actually was not even in the Bike Lane since it is such a poor design but this person just wanted to try and run me over.

Thursday Night Ride
Had to go to the LBS to pick up some parts. I haven't been there since my Company moved last moth. I used to be 3.5 Miles from them. Well now it is far enough that I can't go at lunch I have to go after work. So heading to the bike shop and home is 21+ miles. It took just over an hour because of traffic. I'll have to find another way to head there because only have an hour after work to get there for the Monday Night Shop Rides. It shouldn't be a problem. I have about 3 or 4 ways to head there some longer then other's but may be quicker.

Wednesday Night Ride
Rode slow tonight. Actually the day almost ended as bad as it started. But did not. It just annoyed me. First off it did not rain all day after this morning so about 4:00 PM I notice it real dark out. Rain is just pouring down. But by 5:00 pm it has stopped. The roads are soaked but so what. It looks pretty good out and still 63. Go down the elevator walk out side and before I can get going it starts pouring again. So I'm under the tree I lock my bike to and I put on my rain suit. 63 is too cold to ride in the rain.
Any who I go about 3 miles and it isn't raining anymore so I stop and strip off the rain suit and throw on my long sleeved tee. I arrive at home without further rain. I'm damp from sweat and splash from wet roads but other then that it was actually a good ride but I was going REAL slow! Don't know why just one of those days.

Wednesday Morning Ride
Strange day. Well not really strange but things that normally do not happen happened. Start the day off with a flat when I go to get on the bike. Second flat in 19,895 miles. So you know that is strange. The problem is not something in the tire it is a ripped valve stem? Strange since I have been riding on this tire for 2 months now and I haven't put air in since last week.
Okay get another tube out and put it all back together. Fill the tire slowly but somehow I still miss the tube sneaking out goes off like a shot gun. Now I can't hear because I am in my carport so that sound just blasts me. Great two tubes down only one left. Also I have Hokey spokes on my front wheel one of them is now broken and the front wheel is out of true. That was some blast.
Well put the last tube in and realize that now I don't have spare tube and no patch kit. I don't believe in patch kits since I never get flats. Two flats in 19895 miles is almost 10,000 miles between flats. But in reality at last flat I had was on the bike when it was new before putting on the good tires and that was around 6,000 miles so it really has been some where around 13,000 miles since my last flat.
So Since I lost so much time this morning I had to take the short way into work. So
still I have no complete week of riding the same route all five days yet. Something happens every week to make that not happen. Plus just before I roll out of the carport it starts raining

Rides
Well I have been working my butt off moving my server room for the company I work for. You would think I am an expert on moving this stuff by now. This is my fourth move with them in 8 years.
I have been riding but I have not been able to update the data that I keep. My small Linux box that I keep my database on has been turned off since Thursday.
The good news is that the move is done! I have all my servers up and running but now I have to go and help all the users. So I don't know when I will actually get my own stuff unpacked and running again. Hopefully I'll have all my desk stuff up and running on Tuesday. Tomorrow, Monday, there will be plenty of imagined problems but I will have to put those fires out with some comforting words and show them it really works. Such is the life of the Unix System Administrator.

Does anyone have a clue? Is it just sluggish muscles in the cold or is air thicker and harder to push away? Just some thoughts from my head. Darkness plays a huge roll in my evening times being slower then day rides. You feel like you are flying only to find out you are going slower.
